If you're looking for me, don't worry. I'm on the way. I've got an ear to the ground and my eyes on the dark corners. Unlike some people, I don't publicize; when you're as good as I am, you don't have to.

Just look for the most handsome man on the street. The one with the gray cloak.

Carlos Ramirez is many things. A young man, a smart ass, a wizard, a Warden, a friend... and a couple of other things that he'd rather you didn't know about. That said, he's a top-notch spellslinger, the youngest ever Regional Warden in the history of the White Council and a loyal friend of Harry Dresden's. While he'll rib the beanstalk about some things, Carlos looks up to Dresden; Dresden's more reckless, upfront manners appeal to him and to other young wizards as opposed to the stuffy and secretive ways of most of the older members of the Council.

Cocky as anything, he nonetheless takes his job seriously and has kept the city of Los Angeles and the western United States relatively peaceful for four years now. While he's not exactly in Harry's inner circle, he trusts him wholeheartedly where other's wouldn't and he's always there if the older wizard needs his assistance (be it Council business or not). Carlos is pretty full of himself, but you can't say that the praise isn't well deserved; while not one of the most powerful wizards (he doesn't have as much brute force as say, Dresden does), he's extremely well-controlled, focused, and good at using what he has in the smartest of ways. An incorrigible flirt (with everyone), his mouth can occasionally run, but he knows when to keep silent as any wizard does.

Aside from his magic, he's had weapons training (sword/handgun) and let's hope he know how to use those frag grenades he's got on him.

On a more mundane note, Carlos's family runs a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, where he can be reached if anyone needs to call him. He occasionally helps out there, along with six sisters and six aunts and an uncountable number of children of various ages.

Physical Description
From Dead Beat:

He had naturally tanned skin, dark hair, dark eyes, and sharp-edged, classically Spanish features. I remembered him in an apprentice's brown robe back then, and covering his mouth with one hand to conceal a grin inspired by some of my dialog with the Council's bigwigs.

The brown robe was gone, and he looked like he had filled in a little since I'd first seen him, but good Lord, he was younger than Billy the werewolf. He wore a gray cloak that looked reasonably clean and not at all damaged, and black fatigues beneath that. A simple, straight sword hung from one hip, and was balanced on the other side by a holstered Glock and, I kid you not, three round fragmentation grenades. His staff was fairly new-looking, but there were enough dents and nicks in it to make me think he had kept things from hitting him with it, and he walked with a kind of arrogant confidence you see only in people who have not yet realized their own mortality.

He also has a pair of shield gloves, etched with Aztec gods, which he uses on occasion and a Desert Eagle. His staff is made of black palm and ebony wood and his magic is performed in Nahuatl; he tends to favor water and earth, but can also work with wind.

IF YOUR PUP IS TECH BASED OR HAS TECHNOLOGY ON THEM OFTEN, please note that any technology which is turned on near Carlos will more than likely short out or go on the fritz. He is not doing this on purpose; Dresdenverse magic does not mix well with technology and wizards are, as such, restricted to lower-tech lives. Anything invented after around 1950 is fair game for going wonky and the more advanced, the easier it is for them to break it.
